When you are in the sweets business, you tend to be more aware of goodie-giving holidays like Valentine's Day. I ask myself, is it really that important to receive a little something special from someone you love on that big red heart day? It would be ideal if we just let people know we love them every day. But seriously folks, you know we are human, and we are going to miss a few. I say that Valentine's Day is "Make-up Day". For all the times you miss the opportunity to say "I care..." send an extra special goodie package on V-day to keep things even. I am not that terribly sentimental myself, but I must admit I do wait with anticipation to see if I will receive a special delivery with lots of red and pink hearts on it. Silly, I know. But, when I do... it always makes me smile - and sometimes it even makes me cry.
